Computers & Cameras for Kids

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Stefan Heinz. I started Computers & Cameras for Kids out of a commitment for sharing what I’m good at.

There are two things in my life that I am passionate about and good at and love to share: computers and photography. This initiative is set up to educate kids & teenagers about how to use computers and cameras to educate themselves and be a contribution for their families and communities – in other words on making productive use of computers & cameras.

What inspired me is ‘the windmill guy’ (William Kamkwamba) when he said “where was this Google all this time” – many smart kids just cannot make use of their potential because they are missing the means; many would have Internet access, except they are missing a computer or don’t know really how to make use of it. And then photography adds an edge to it all when expressing or documenting what someone is passionate about.

So rather than kids having to do hard labor at the age of 10 or below because their parents cannot afford school tuition, the goal of Computers & Cameras for Kids is to put these same human beings in a position where they can

  • educate themselves and others through access to computers
  • connect to other people anywhere on the planet

… and a lot more these kids come up with, once they get their head around the technology.

If you have a computer or a digital camera you would like to donate, please contact us so we can handle shipping.
